Hello,
I was thinking about wealth today and it occurred to me that true wealth in the financial sense is not having "lots of money" but it is relative to the lifestyle you wish to enjoy. In line with this, I came up with an interesting two part definition for being truly wealthy
1) "You are truly financially wealthy, if, regardless of what you spend, you are completely debt free and always have $100 in your wallet"
and
2) "You are truly financially wealthy if you help thousands of people be in condition 1".
The most striking thing about these definitions is that they totally support each other; Achieve 2) and you automatically attain 1).
Have a great week!
Dear Malcolm,
what occurred to me reading Dickens, I'd guess, is "Rich is the man, who, at the end of the year, calls one penny his own, in contrast to the one, who is poor, having a debt of the same amount to someone".
The 2nd principle is called - according to some old german story - "Das Sterntalerprinzip" ;-)
I wish you all the best !
Regards,
Knud

I agree with you. true wealth is not having "lots of money" but having enough money to live a comfortable life. But the problem nowadays, with the salaries being so low, you have to straggle to achieve that, and search for new ways to finance yourself.
