Dear Malcolm,

what occurred to me reading Dickens, I'd guess, is "Rich is the man, who, at the end of the year, calls one penny his own, in contrast to the one, who is poor, having a debt of the same amount to someone".

The 2nd principle is called - according to some old german story - "Das Sterntalerprinzip" ;-)

I agree with you. true wealth is not having "lots of money" but having enough money to live a comfortable life. But the problem nowadays, with the salaries being so low, you have to straggle to achieve that, and search for new ways to finance yourself.
