Hello,
Last evening I helped out at a charity event selling drinks tickets. The event, the "Ugly Disco", occurs every year in Rochester NY and supports the Boys and Girls Clubs of America. Predominately young people dress in 70's and 80's disco wear (hence the "Ugly") and groove to live bands and a DJ. The event was very well attended and we made constant sales throughout our 3 hour shift and we did take a lot of money.
At the end of the night the organizer thanked me and my co-seller, another member from my Rotary club. He was so appreciative that we had been trustworthy and that he has had a lot of trouble securing volunteers who do not take advantage of the vast quality of money passing through the ticket selling operation.
Today I reflected on what he had said and how one would attract trustworthy people. My thoughts went over many strategies until I asked myself "How would I do that, and more importantly, how have I done that in the past?" The answer came in a flash - by being totally trustworthy myself.
My belief is that we attract other who are like ourselves. If we are loving, we attract other loving people, if we have inner strength, we attract others with that quality. What you are getting, you are attracting, even if you do not realize it.
So, if you are getting something you don't want, look may have the urge to examine how you may be secretly attracting it. It may take some time to identify the exact thoughts, but they will be there.
The alternative approach is somewhat simpler. Always flow out that which you want to others, and be liberal with it. If you want wealth, help someone else be wealthy. If you want love, love others more unconditionally.
The second option works for me.
Have an awesome week,
Malcolm
